Morning Prayer

From The Fellowship of St Brendan

As the spring brings new life and hope, so does the dawning day.
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Before The Lord
This I call to mind; for this reason I take hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness, O Lord. 1

Declaration of Faith
Lord, You have always marked the road for the coming day;
and though the path may be hidden, today I believe. 2

Food from Above
Your light makes my pathway clear. Your word guides my every step. 3
Give me eyes that see and a heart to understand. 4

(Scripture Reading)

Blessed is everyone who receives the words of God and acts on them. 5
Thanks be to God.

(Prayers of the People)
Pray for people you know, the Church, the Kingdom, and the world.

Christ of the Mysteries, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy. 6

Praise Be To God
Christ, as a light illumine and guide me.
Christ before me; Christ behind me;
Christ beside me on my left and my right.
This day be within and without me, meek, yet all-powerful. 7

Into the Fallen World
O Christ of the Mysteries, shall I put myself solely at your mercy,
without weapon or protection, without food or drink,
and no where to rest my head?
Shall I turn my back on my native land?
Shall I say farewell to my great nation,
placing myself entirely under your care?
O Christ, will you help me this day
on the wild waves (of life)? 8
